Frequently asked questions

When are Lessons offered?

Lessons are offered Tuesday through Sunday, 8-5 by appointment. Other times can be made available.

I am a beginner. What can I expect for my first few lessons?

Usually for first time riders we start with an Intro/Evaluation lesson of 30 min. Instructors teach students the process of preparing the horse to ride, and evaluate students for their ability to focus, follow directions and coordination on a horse. Beginners start with 30 min private lessons until they can walk and trot comfortably on their own. When riders have the ability to navigate the horse correctly, they then move into hour long group lessons

What equipment is needed?

Riders are required to have a helmet, and riding boots for their lessons. We have a limited amount of helmets and small riding boots to borrow for first timers. Once it is determined that lessons will be continued it is suggested that riders purchase these items. As your instructor for an equipment list.

I do not own my own horse, can I still take lessons?

Yes, we have a wonderful group of seasoned school horses.
